AMAZING recipe, you can take it so many different ways, by incorporating whatever, when adding the finally cup of stock, parm, wine etc. I, too, stayed away from risotto b/c of the time and effort I heard was required. Ina, thank you so much for making this extremely simple.

I typically don't comment on a recipe unless I've followed the recipe to the letter but I only made one slight revision. I used a 12oz bag of semi-sweet chips in lieu of the chunks. Had several bags of chips in pantry but no chunks. They turned out perfect and I received rave reviews. Already have a request for another batch. Thanks Ina, love ya!

You are so right Ree, Best Tomato Soup Ever. Just made it and absolutely love it. I agree w/ you though, add the sugar tbsp at a time, can easily become too sweet. Hard-headed me started w/ 5 tbsp and should have started w/ one and worked my way up. Was too sweet so I added tomato paste to cut it. Worked out fine. Will be sharing w/ friends and ke"

Once again Ina, PERFECT!!! I absolutely love them, light, moist and the right amount of sweetness. I added walnuts, YUM!
