Reviewed Buttermilk Biscuits with Eggs and Sausage Gravy

"I had never made biscuits before but I found this recipe very easy to follow. I used a tumbler/glass to cut the biscuits as I don't have a biscuit cutter. The result was soft but flaky biscuits, tasty & delicious! I haven't made the sausage as there are several mixed reviews & I'd rather buy me some Jimmy Dean ;) I think even a novice baker will h"

Reviewed Easy Peach Cobbler

"Obviously, a very simple recipe. You can't beat the prep time of 5-10 mns, depending how fast you move in the kitchen :) It's also delicious! Truly a great, little recipe to keep on hand when you want a wonderful dessert with friends and family. I have made it twice in as many weeks and plan to make it many more times :)"

Reviewed Light Baked Spaghetti

"I have made this 3 times already. Twice with Italian sausage and regular pasta and it was great. Today I made it with chicken sausage & extra veggies. I added red bell pepper, squash and mushrooms. I used whole wheat capellini noodles & I did use real cheese - cheddar and mozzarella. It's a great family meal, very flavorful. I pretty much added"

Reviewed Light Baked Spaghetti

"Followed the recipe except that we used Italian sausage. It was great! Easy to make & tasty. Served it with a side of mixed greens & garlic bread. My boys( husband & teen) had 3 servings at dinner. It tastes better the next day. It's very budget friendly too as it makes enough for a crowd. I fed 5 coworkers the next day with the left overs :) High"

Reviewed Chickpea Soup

"A very simple and tasty soup - perfect for a light lunch or supper. I did make a few adjustments to the recipe to suit my needs. I used two 15oz cans of chickpeas and one can of crushed tomatoes. Sauteed diced onion, rosemary, and garlic. Added chickpeas and tomatoes. Squished up 1/3 of chickpeas. Added 3 1/2 cups water. Stirred in a tablespoo"

Reviewed Spicy Pop Pulled Pork

"Made it today, followed directions to the letter except for the peppers. My family is very sensitive to spice food so I put in 2 small chipotle peppers. I couldn't really get any adobo sauce out of the can, so I left it at that. It turned out GREAT! It had a mildly sweet flavor with a bit of zing to it. It was PERFECTION and the whole family ""

Reviewed Red Sauce and Spaghetti

"I absolutely loved this recipe! I pureed the onions as I don't like the texture of pieces of onion in my food-normally I pick them out, but I really wanted to enjoy the flavor they would impart on the sauce. I simmered it exactly for 30 minutes and the sauce was super tasty! Next time I will make 2 batches of the sauce as I think 1 pound of spa""

About Me

I'm a self-taught cook who dreams big from deep in South Texas.  Variety and diversity are not to be found amongst the foods and ingredients in my neck of the woods.  I do the best I can with what I have, and it has taught me to be flexible and improvise in the kitchen.  My husband and I love to cook together.  We are very adventurous and will try anything at least once.  Cooking makes me happy because it's how I show my family and friends how much they mean to me :)
