Reviewed Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp
"Has anyone done this as a make-ahead by prepping the apples and topping hours in advance, keeping them separate in the fridge until just before baking? I want to make this for Thanksgiving but worry that if I bake it in the morning or early afternoon, it will get soggy. I would like to prep the two parts in the morning, assemble just as we are sitting down, bake during dinner. Thoughts? Seems like it should work, but would appreciate the voice of someone who has done this. Thanks!
