Reviewed Chili-Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

"This was really good! I love sweet potatoes and chili and the combination of the two worked great... the "coolness" of the sweet potato was nice against the "hotness" of the chili (dual tastes, I'd use sweet and sour chicken as an analogy). I cooked my sweet potatoes in the oven.. used larger sized ones, cooked at 400F for about 1 hour 10 mins. "

Reviewed Baked Tilapia With Tomatoes and Potatoes

"The recipe was ok, not really bad but also not really good. I felt that the cook times were a little off--seemed like the potatoes needed less time and the tomatoes and fish needed a little more time, which threw me off in terms trying to time things to come out evenly. Tomatoes seemed to have a strong taste, maybe not add as much balsamic vinega"

Reviewed Penne With Vodka Sauce

"Pretty tasty.. followed the recipe as it calls for the most part, but I did add in more fresh basil (can't go wrong there! I also cooked up some shrimp and served that with the pasta. I think some type of meat of seafood helps spruce this dish up, but it would be fine without it. My take away was that it was not a heavy dish nor was the sauce o"

Reviewed Vanilla Poached Pears with Chocolate Sauce and Ice Cream (a.k.a. "Poire Belle Helene"

"Very good!! I used Ghirardelli 60% cocoa chocolate bars (I used 2 four-ounce bars) and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Made plenty of chocolate for 5 pears, with leftovers (I'll use for dipping strawberries and bananas later this week). I think the ice cream makes it taste a lot better, almost like fondue from the Melting Pot as it melts into th"

Reviewed Ravioli and Vegetable Soup

"Very fresh, light, and easy enough to make on a weeknight. I used beef stock + 3 cups of water. For the ravioli I bought a local fresh grade at the supermarket: "sweet potato - sage" by Dalla Terra Pasta. Went really well with this soup, lower in calories and not so cheesy. Do add some Parmesan cheese at the end, it tastes so good as it melts into"

Reviewed Garlic Roast Chicken

"Made this recipe over Easter weekend. Would def add more potatoes and carrots next time, maybe even some sprouts. However, my onion did burn and I put an aluminum tent over my chicken for first 30 mins to make sure chicken didnt come out dry, and my chicken skin did not brown as nice as Ina's. I also used a red onion because I couldn't find a Span"

Reviewed Mexican Fish Stew

"Saw this recipe in Food Network magazine and gave it a go today. It was very flavorful. I used fresh corn on cob and mixed in some Yukon gold potatoes. Make sure you have a large enough skillet--mine was 5qt. I ended up using about 1.5 cups of reserve water to have enough liquid and to reduce some of the saltiness. If you aren't a huge lover of fi""
