The results from following this recipe to a "T" were excellent! Everyone, even the picky eaters, loved it. Will be my go to recipe to feed the masses. Btw, I vote for origin being Brunswick county, VA. and not Georgia ;)

I followed recipe to the T and it was mediocre at best. If you want to feel like a "chef" by measuring spices, chopping chiles and seeding, chopping chipotles, mincing garlic etc etc then go for it. I was looking for a good, basic potato soup recipe and stumbled across this one. I wasn't sure about the shrimp aspect of it but went ahead and made the recipe exactly as called for.
