My Activity

Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

"Agree with katie_chi-town below. The cookies tasted like cake mix. However, mine were moist and came out perfectly in a convection oven at 325 for 10 minutes. I would love to try a scratch version or find a cake mix that doesn't taste like preservatives. Perhaps an all-natural organic mix would be worth trying out.

Reviewed Turtle Graham Bars

"Made them last night almost as directed. Only changes: used parchment paper as I didn't have a silpat and baked for 11 minutes at 325 (convection oven).

Two things to watch for: If you sprinkle on the salt before the chocolate cools a bit, it melts (but still tastes good)--so wait a bit before sprinkling it on and placing in fridge. Also, i left it in the fridge for an hour instead of 30 minutes--made slicing more difficult if you want neat squares. Irregular pieces look just fine. BUT EASY AND DELICIOUS and each of my neighbors is getting a goodie bag of these on Christmas eve! (if i don't eat them all first...)
