Ok, this is the 2nd time I made this. I think I nailed it this time. I cut way back on the white pepper, using only about 1/2 teaspoon. I then went with 1/3 cup of honey. This ended up making this soup just about perfect. I followed the recipe for everything else."

My wife said that this was the best barbecue chicken she had ever eaten. I agree...this recipe is definitely a keeper. Other than adding 1/2 TBSP Garlic Powder and 1/2 TBSP Liquid Smoke to the BBQ sauce, I followed this recipe exactly...except I only made 1 chicken instead of 2. This recipe was just ok. I felt like the amount of white pepper was too much. At the table, we added some brown sugar and parmesan and that helped. I think I'll make this again, but will use less pepper, more honey and add some brown sugar. I was looking for more of a sweet soup, and it was more savory.

This is the first time I've ever fried chicken. I pan fried this and used Frank's Red Hot instead of Texas Pete. This is really good fried chicken.
