Reviewed Company Pot Roast

"Very, very tasty! I did not have any Cognac and used a nice, spicy, red Chilean wine. I will try this again and use the Cognac, but it turned out beautifully. The only trouble I had was finding a pot big enough to hold it (my roast was around 7 lbs)! I didn't give it 5 stars only because the roast was not very tender; after it was cut, it needed extra sauce for moisture. I am used to cooking my roast overnight in a crockpot and it falling apart (maybe I can adapt this for the crockpot?). For sure the most flavorful roast you will ever put in your mouth. Reviewed Shortbread Hearts

"I just finished baking these for a Christmas Party, using cookie cutters of trees and stars. Previous reviews are correct...The recipe was easy to follow, just make sure the butter is room temp! I too, pulled them early (between 17 & 18 min. If they are left in the full 20 minutes, they will be too brown (maybe because I rolled out dough to 1/4 inch instead of 1/2 inch). The taste is very delicate and delicious...classic shortbread! Thank you, Ina!
