"Thanks to the other reviews, I made some modifications. I too added 2 T of fresh thyme and 1 T of fresh sage. I also sauteed 2 C yellow onions, 1 C celery and 2 C of diced carrots in the butter instead of blanching. It does NOT need the additional frozen small whole onions. "I do NOT like cooked green beans and am generally not a fan of the traditional recipe, however, this one was FANTASTIC! I was shocked on how good it was. It really doesn't "need" cheese but it certainly didn't hurt the recipe. I went heavy on the mushrooms too. I left it in the oven for closer to 30 minutes as I really wanted it hot and crispy "
