My Activity

Reviewed Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies

"I followed the directions to a T (which I NEVER do), set the timer even for the chilling reqts (2 hours!! TWICE-what a long day!!), had new baking powder(bubbles here we come!!), used brand ingredients as opposed to generic despite my currently VERY strict budget that doesn't allow for such luxuries, I contemplated the humidity in the house (really?! who does that!?!), and I watched the video 3x just to make sure I was ready. The cookie was tough like the dough had been overworked. I wondered about that as I worked the batches-but thought-they're the professionals, the chocolate wasn't very chocolatey despite my terribly expensive chocolatier purchase. I used an electric knife like the video. Ugh! I ended up having to use 1" cuts because with 1/2" (w/reg knife or electric), the choc portion of cookie was nothing but broken pieces. The cookies didn't spread when baked..They are edible nuked and then soaked in milk. :(
