Reviewed Banana's Foster

"Amazing! And so easy! Didn't have banana liquor so used Disaronno instead. Served over vanilla yogurt and topped with granola."

Reviewed Hearty Tomato Soup with Lemon and Rosemary

"I never liked tomato soup until I tried this recipe, and I LOVE it! Because we like a chunkier soup, I cut back on the chicken broth and to not puree. Creme fraiche is not available in our area so I used yogurt instead. Thank you, Giada, for such a flavorful, enjoyable, easy-to-make tomato soup. ""

Reviewed Bread Soup: Panada

"So good and so easy! I had all the ingredients on hand except for the arugula and green beans so left them out. I was wondering if the soup would be bland without the addition of chicken or vegetable stock, but it wasn't! The fresh herbs added a nice, light flavor, and I used canned diced tomatoes rather than fresh. I didn't bother soaking/squeezi""

Reviewed Black Beans and Rice

"A++++! I love this dish! Great comfort food, especially when served with ropa vieja. I followed Ingrid's recipe, but added 3 cans of beans instead of 4. "

Reviewed Shredded Steak with Peppers, Onions and Tomatoes (Ropa Vieja

"I would give this recipe 14 stars if I could! It was extraordinarily delicious and very easy to make. I cut the recipe in half, skipped the achoite powder (not available in my area), and cut back a little on the beer since I didn't have enough room in the bowl for the marinade. I let it sit in the fridge for about an hour and a half before slow cooking. For side dishes I used Ingrid's rice and beans recipe (SO GOOD) and her mango and red cabbage slaw, also excellent. These three dishes made for a successful dinner party!"

Reviewed Mango and Red Cabbage Slaw

"I took the suggestion of another reviewer and added crushed pineapple which made this dish perfect. It's a gorgeous salad and the perfect accompaniment to ropa vieja and rice and beans."

Reviewed Hot Dogs a la Rose

"With so many mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really like this dish! The flavors work well together and make a nice compliment to the hot dogs. Instead of fresh tomato I used canned chopped tomato and used the juice to thin the sauce rather than water. It was fun to have serve this in a pita pocket. Since I usually find pita bread to be kind of hard and dry, I spritzed it with a little water and warmed it in the oven before serving. Next time I will try this with natural chicken sausage.
