"I was hesitant to use this recipte because I was looking for a more basic macaroon recipe and wasn't sure I wanted to go the chocolate-and-nuts route. I should know better than to questions Alton Brown. They are the best macaroons I've eaten. They're less dense and chewy. It's almost like a chewy coconut shell surrounding a pillow of airy cookie. ""
