Reviewed Smoked Gouda-Chorizo Jalapeno Poppers

Dec 11, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I make these all the time for parties. They are awesome! I definitely use gloves and a teaspoon to seed the halved jalapenos. Don't be tempted to overstuff these - it's not worth it because the stuffing will just ooze out and not only make a mess, but they won't look as nice. Also, I like to take these out before the flesh of the peppers cooks too...

I am reviewing the sauce only: I lovvvvvvve this BBQ sauce! I had everything on hand except the hoisin so I substituted brown sugar and it was amazing. I used it for pulled pork sandwiches. I am going to try this sauce on Alton's Brown's rib recipe. Yum!"

Really good! But don't try to save time and juice the limes/lemons ahead of time. The juice just gets really bitter :( I've done that before. You must freshly juice the fruit. If you find they are too strong just serve them as Margartinis and serve in a martini glass. Yum!"

This recipe is perfect as written. I always make my rice in the oven (350 degrees for 20 to 25 min. I prepare it on the stove and I just cover the pot and pop it in a preheated oven. It always come out fluffy and perfect. I did season with s&p after it was all done...but this recipe is soooo good. ""

Excellent, just like the rice you get at mexican restaurants! I add 1/2 a packet of sazon to bump up the color and flavor. I actually leave out the bay leaf, serrano and peas and it's amazing every time. LOVE your recipes Marcela :)"

I've been using this recipe for years. I usually double the topping though. I also use the basics of this recipe and make little apple crisps for one person using a small ramekin and just one apple. Also, if I only have granny smith apples I'll cook them on the stove first with some butter, sugar and cinnamon and then add the topping and pop it in"
