This is a brilliant recipe. I've made manyof AB's other bread recipes from his books, and this one is the best! I was skeptical given the ease of the recipe, but it came out perfectly and was a total snap to make. I'll definitely do this again."

Reviewed Cauliflower Soup and Garlic and Cheese Sourdough "Dippers"

Reviewed Striped Bass in Salt Dome

Jan 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

We made this for dinner on NYE. It was excellent. Prior to making it, I was concerned that the salt crust wouldn't adhere and that the fish wouldn't be done. I should just have trusted Alton. Both concerns were without basis. The fist was perfectly cooked when it came out. It was well seasoned but not at all salty, another concern I had. We"

Dec 27, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My mother in law and I made this for Christmas dinner. Neither of us had ever prepared duck before. The family all agreed that it turned out well. We did prick the skin beforehand but followed the recipe otherwise. It was moist and flavorful. It did take a little longer than stated because the oven temp drops every time you open it to baste. "

This was great--super easy and very tasty. I was looking for an easy eggplant recipe for a weeknight. I served it with the polenta, but it'd be equally good with bread. I'm going to make a pasta bake with the leftovers. It made a lot more than I thought it would. Yum!"

The best meatloaf we've had. It's even better than Alton's other meatloaf from his first book, which I liked a lot. It was moist but held together and had just a hint of spice from the pepper.
