"I made these beans twice, even purchasing new beans and soaking more than 24 hours. Beans were tough and crunchy even after cooking for more than 6 hours. I also tried the brisket (which I have made using other recipes with great success)and it was tough, dry and basically inedible. I had to throw out both beans and brisket. What a waste..
"I loved the caramelized onions and the whole idea, but my crust was soggy. Wish I knew what went wrong. I'd like to try it again.
Grew up with canned and frozen foods, then years in airports left little time to experiment. Now love to try new recipes and ingredients.
