I agree that this needed some extra herbs - I added bay leaves too and some thyme. Also added celery & substituted beef broth for the chicken. I also added a large can of peeled tomatoes and let simmer for over an hour before adding the barley. Tender and delish! Perfect for a winter day! "

This is the 3rd or 4th recipe I tried for making good and easy sugar cookies. They always ripped at the edges when rolling them out but these came out nice! A little dry on the edges but overall good. "

Perfect!!...with some changes: I omitted the molasses & instead of white sugar, I used light brown sugar(since it has a little molasses in it). I also used white whole wheat flour AND I did not think there was any need to chill the dough - who has time for that? They still came out great. This recipe is so easy & it comes out perfect! I don't add any salt though bc the clams are a little salty already. And I had to turn the heat up to a medium high to get the clams to open. Yummy with parmesan cheese!"
