It's me again, with an update on the ORIGINAL recipe: I figured, what do I have to lose? So I put the dish back into the oven this afternoon and baked it another 25 minutes. Man, what a difference! It looked good when I took it out of the oven, but as it cooled, I had to drain it four times. Next time I'll make begin as I do with rhubarb crisp: put the peaches (tossed with the sugar/flour ingredients) into a pot on the stove with some cornstarch & cinnamon and cook them a bit so the juice comes out and is thickened IN THE POT.
