Reviewed Pasta with Pancetta and Leeks

Jan 27, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Simple, easy and delicious. Good meal for a weeknight. I used bacon because I had some I needed to cook from a previous recipe, and I tend to prefer bacon to pancetta anyway. Yummy."

Reviewed Chicken with Wild Mushrooms

Jan 13, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really???? Someone writes a review on a chicken dish and leaves out the chicken and then rates it? Please, that is not at all helpful. This dish was good if you follow the recipe. Basic chicken and mushroom dish but overall tasty."

Reviewed Chicken Burgers with Garlic-Rosemary Mayonnaise

Dec 29, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were delicious. My husband and I like rosemary in small doses so I cut down on the amount of rosemary and added another clove of garlic. Great alternative to a regular burger. Will make these again and again. "

Reviewed Chicken with Shallots

Oct 31, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was an easy and delicious way to make chicken. I read the reviews first. Always use unsalted butter in this recipe and use common sense when using the lemon juice. Then salt and pepper to taste. Obviously some lemons are juicier than others, although we like a lemony sauce. I made extra sauce too as we like to make sure there is enough to spo"

Reviewed Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Oct 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Easy, delicious and fast. Would be good with chicken, etc. but I always try to stick to a recipe as closely as possible the first time and then tweak it next time. I did use bacon instead of pancetta because that is what I already had. Will make it again."

Reviewed Linguine with Avocado and Arugula Pesto

Sep 26, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This dish was very tasty. I would make sure to reserve some cooking liquid as it tends to need it, especially if there are leftovers. Overall, an ingenious use of avocados in a pesto. I love different twists on pestos! My Italian husband was very skeptical of this pesto but he loved it. Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Simple Perfect Enchiladas

Sep 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought this was good. My husband and I can't tolerate food that is too spicy so this was tasty. A little messy, but making enchiladas always is!"

Reviewed Stuffed Cabbage

Jul 27, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

After reading the reviews I added Craisins instead of raisins because that is what I had on hand. I was a little skeptical of the sauce because of the sugar, etc. but it was quite good. I thought the meat filling was a bit bland so will try some other seasonings in it next time. My rice did cook in the oven. Over all, I would make this again."

Reviewed Chicken with Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Cream Sauce

Jun 2, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This dish was really flavorful, and I always follow a recipe to the letter the first time I make it. Then I will tweak it or make substitutions if I feel it is necessary the next time. "

Reviewed Bucatini All'Amatriciana with Spicy Smoked Mozzarella Meatballs

May 31, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was very good. My husband is an Italian "traditionalist" and likes things the way his Nona made them. He said these were the best meatballs he ever had. We like a lot of sauce so we only used 8 ounces of pasta and it was perfect."

This was delicious. I will definitely make it again and again."

Reviewed Baked Potato Ice Cream

Oct 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very creative and delicious. I made this for my daughter's 22nd birthday instead of cake. She loves potatoes in any form and thought this was great. I had one left over and gave it to our neighbors to enjoy. I used lemon frosting for the "butter" and it was a perfect addition. Plain cocoa powder was just right as it offset the sweetness a bit. This was delicious. I usually make a recipe exactly as written the first time but I discovered I didn't have any marjoram. But, this was so wonderful I will make it again and again.""

I had not cooked with fresh tarragon before and actually tried this recipe on a dinner guest (usually against my rules. It was very good.
