My Activity

Reviewed French Toast Bread Pudding

"Tried this in advance of a brunch I'm hosting - it was very easy to prepare. I wanted it to turn out not too wet or custardy so I cut back the milk a little and also cut out an egg. My husband and both agreed it was still a little "eggy" for our taste so I will up the milk closer to the 5c it calls for or cut back another egg or perhaps an egg y"

Reviewed Hummus

"I LOVE Ina's recipes but this didn't turn out too well for me. I think the garlic flavor was a bit too harsh. I would consider trying roasted garlic next time to try to improve it for my tastes or maybe use three cloves at first.""

Reviewed Fresh Peach Cake

"Delicious! A must try! I did have to modify the baking time as I only had ab 8x8 so if that's what you are using I suggest testing with a toothpick after 55 mins and leaving in longer as needed. Reviewed Pumpkin Bread

"Great flavor, but it definitely needs to bake for 50+ minutes. I have a fairly new oven as well. Most quick-bread recipes like this that I make all say to cook for aorund an hour so be aware when you try this.

Reviewed Middle Eastern Vegetable Salad

"Very fresh and delicious. I didn't happen to add the mint. Sometimes when I make a salad like this I mix in a cup of cooked and cooled couscous or quinoa rather than serving with pita on the side.

Reviewed Rosemary White Bean Soup

"I usually rate most of Ina's recipes with 5 stars but this one fell a little short. I will admit that I used a hand immersion blender rather than a food processor so maybe that's why the consistency for me was a little off - I'd prefer it to be a little thicker. I found it was a bit bland. It needs a little something extra - maybe some smoked ham or something else to add some depth of flavor.

Reviewed Ribollita

"This is a favorite of mine! I chose to leave out the pancetta, made no substitute, and it was still full of flavor. The sourdough bread gives it a great tang, too! Very filling and healthy. I did try it once with canned beans and it was not as great - definitely go for the dried - well worth the extra prep.
