Reviewed Fabulous Red Velvet Cake

"The cake turned out perfect! I am an experienced home-taught cook and specialize in many different types of cooking. I was a bit concerned from some of the other reviews about it rising too much and falling over the sides of the pan but that wasn't the case for me. It did rise quite a bit during the first half of baking but it starts to receed a little during the second half of baking. Also, be sure to use shortening to grease the pans and the cake will come out perfectly. I did, however, choose not to make the frosting recipe for this cake. Instead, I made my own white chocolate frosting and it was amazing! As long as you follow the recipe exactly as its written you should have no problems. One more thing to note is when mixing the food coloring with the cocoa it does not make an actual paste so don't be discouraged you did that part wrong and definitely don't start adding more cocoa.
