Reviewed Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup
"Absolutely amazing! I made it for my co-workers and they swear it's the best french toast they've ever had! I actually took the advice of another reviewer and used Egg Nog instead of Half and Half...added great flavor and sweetness so you didn't have to use syrup. In terms of the 2 sticks of butter, I would actually put it down to 1 1/2 sticks (1 stick at the bare minimum). The topping really doesn't need flour as a binder--just spread the butter/sugar/nut mixture over the top, and it will bake up and the pecans will make a crispy sweet topping.
