Reviewed BBQ Chicken Burgers with Slaw

This was a great burger! Made with turkey, but it was delicious. The husband raved! We didn't love the slaw, but it was good--just different."

This was a big hit in our house! I'm always looking for one-pot dinners and this fit the bill. I subbed sharp cheddar for the havarti and it was great. My husband, who doesn't cook, suggested this could be a great base for a ton of variety. My fav of his ideas, shrimp and pineapple. We had to add salt at the end, so I must not have seasoned enoug...

First, let me say that I. LOVE. S'MORES. Second, I'm sad to say these didn't come close to the campfire version. Sure, these were gooey and good, but I couldn't really taste the marshmellow. The chocolately goodness overwhelmed everything else. Next time I may just leave the marshmellows off--but I like the crutchiness of the crackers. "

Reviewed Gruyere and Spinach Bakes

Jun 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are fabulous! I used a bit too much spinach the first time around, but they were good regardless. I substituted bacon for the pancetta, which turned out fine. I also suggest cutting the salt in 1/2--the bacon or pancetta has plenty! I'm afraid to cut it out as it likely helps the egg mixture stay fluffly, but you can easily cut it down to 1/"

Jan 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The bean portion of this is now my go-to for a bean dip--so easy and so much better than the stuff from the can! I will sometimes add browned Mexican chorizo with the beans to make it nice and meaty. The great flavor of the chorizo really kicks up the dip. ""

This was a different kind of appetizer for New Year's Eve--we liked it. Once again, thanks reviewers! You give me the courage to go outside the recipe when I don't have everything on hand. I didn't have as many apricots as I thought, so I tossed in some cranberries and it worked really well. I did buy some cardamom in the bulk section of my groce...

I really enjoyed this recipe! I'm always looking for ways to incorporate more vegies in my meals and this rice certainly does the trick! I was prepared to leave out the chayote--convinced I wouldn't be able to find it in my small town--but I did! Thanks to my local co-op. Great rice. We loved this! My husband suggested adding more peppers, maybe a red pepper? It seems like it would rock on a hoagie, too! I found it a bit spicy with hot Italian sausage, so I might do mild next time. Also had to you Anaheim peppers. I love that it was fast, easy and one pot!""

So delicious! Thanks, reviewers--as always, your tips make a big difference. In this case, the beef broth recommendations. The sauce did seem like it'd be a bit dull, so after browning the mushrooms I added about 1/2 cup of red wine and let it reduce. That made the sauce! Like bacon and butter, everything is better with wine! I also tossed the eg...

Nov 18, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Yummy! This was a great side dish for dinner tonight. I was afraid the cauliflower would drown in the cream, but it was just enough. Thanks posters! Your reviews helped out. I didn't have gruyere, so I just used a bit of parmesan, 1/2 tsp of dijon instead of ground, and I cut the bread crumbs down to 2 Tbsp. Great balance. Enjoy!""

Oh. My. Goodness. This was delicious! I love the flavor, but not the texture, of pumpkin pie, so this was perfect! My husband requested it for Thanksgiving. I too used canned pumpkin--sorry, Anne--but who has the time? I used ground ginger, so the ginger flavor probably wasn't as strong. Will try the crystalized or fresh next time. I'm lucky enou...
