Replied to Italian Flatbread (Piadina) with Fontina and Prosciutto Recipe : Giada De Laurentiis : Food Network

I googled images of baking soda and found that Trader Joe's baking soda comes in a can much like baking powder usually does. I think this is the baking soda Giada may have used. Hope this helps.

Reviewed Roasted Baby Potatoes with Herbs

These potatoes were very easy and tasted good, however, at 400 degrees the garlic burned and was very bitter and had to be picked off. I read through all of the reviews and no one else seemed to have this problem. What did I do wrong?

Reviewed Classic Italian Lasagna

I made this lasagna last evening, and we loved it. As another reviewer mentioned below, it's important to season to taste each component of the dish. I did cheat and used Prego Traditional spaghetti sauce, but did everything else the same. If you want a more savory lasagna, you could saute garlic and onion with your ground beef. Hot or sweet (o"

Very good recipe, but the amount made is way off. If you have a 5-inch log of dough and cut into 1/3 inch cookies, you can only get 15 cookies (3 x 5 = 15)."

The ingredients just did not work together, it was bland, and the textures were unappealing. The leftovers were practically inedible. I fished out the shrimp"

I've made this several times as written with peppers and zucchini. Last week I got a green cabbage in my csa box and used this stuffing to make cabbage rolls (blanched the cabbage leaves first). I baked them for one hour. Very good."

We love this minestrone. Instead of pancetta, I saute one to two pounds of loose hot Italian sausage, but keep everything else the same. We like our soups chunky and stew-like, so this works for us.""

Reviewed Shrimp Salad

Dec 19, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I know it's wintertime, but I was craving something lighter than the soups, stews, and roasts that I've making since October, so I made this shrimp salad last night. It's only the two of us so I quartered the recipe and served it on baby greens with crostini. This salad was so easy to make, and was very, very good. The dill really gave this wonderful...
