Reviewed corn chowder

Apr 7, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Loved this! I thought I would add some cheese and/or Old Bay at the end, but I actually loved it as-is. I followed the recipe pretty closely; I did add one chopped carrot and an extra clove of garlic, and I used frozen corn and dried thyme as that's what I had on hand. Will definitely make again.

Reviewed Saag Paneer: Spinach with Indian Cheese

Aug 15, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a great recipe. I omitted the chiles (because I didn't have any) and used only about 2/3 of the cheese. I am usually the type of person who doubles cheese in recipes, but the amount of cheese I used was plenty - and helps stretch out my store-bought paneer. I will definitely make this again, but I will probably up the spices and includ"

Reviewed Glazed Carrots

These are simple and delicious. I used baby carrots instead of sliced. I had to cook a little longer than it suggests for glaze to reduce. My friend who 'doesn't like cooked carrots' went back for seconds!""

Delicious! I made a simplified version of the stock using ham instead of turkey because that's what I had. Definitely worth the time."

Reviewed Orange Scented Green Beans

Apr 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely loved this recipe. It is very simple, and the orange is more to brighten the dish than to really make a change in the flavor. We added some minced garlic to the water when cooking. Will definitely use this as a go-to side dish!"

Reviewed Honey-Butter Baked Chicken with Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Feb 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. It was the first time I'd made a whole chicken (I'm glad I read some Thanksgiving horror stories that showed the dangers of forgetting to take out the bag inside). It looked as good as it tasted. As personal preference, I used regular mashed potatoes instead of sweet potatoes, because I just...

Reviewed New Orleans Goat Cheesecake

Nov 25, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit. I used pre-made graham cracker crusts from the store, and the recipe in these quantities is more than enough for two of them. The batter expands in the oven, so I really could have made 3 or maybe even 4 cheesecakes. Very sweet and delicious!

Reviewed Sausage Balls

Nov 14, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I tried this recipe as written and the sausage balls are completely addictive. At first it seemed like there was no way I could get the Bisquick and cheese all mixed in with the sausage, but it's true that if you just knead and knead it will work out well. I completely agree with those who said it's a base recipe that is fun to play around with....

Reviewed Christmas Soup

Nov 8, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

This recipe was delicious and looked so beautiful! I used chickpeas instead of red kidney beans because I don't like kidney beans very much. I really liked the vinegar. The soup felt hearty but healthy and was great for cooler weather or a cold.

Reviewed Creamless Fresh Pea Soup with Truffled Snow Pea Salad

Oct 17, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I only made the soup, but it was delicious. I made a few substitutions, some on purpose and some not. I used beef stock instead of chicken and added a half pound of spicy ground sausage. I added some extra stock but wouldn't do it the next time. I also underestimated how many unshucked English peas I would need to buy to get 3 cups shucked peas...
