Haven't tried this yet but when I make fresh lemonade, I muddle the sugar and lemons till the sugar is incorperated into the lemons. I know this will be terrific because most of Ina's recipes are GREAT!!! "

I haven't tried this yet but I did see the show. The directions, as I remember them, are:
Bake chocolate cake as directed on pkg in a 13X9 pan. Mix sugar, milk, eggs, and butter and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. In a trifle dish (pretty & clear) Layer cake, drizzle with sauce, sprinkle with nuts & coconut. Repeat twice.

This was a yummy dip/spread. Loved it! I did have a little left over, made it into a chef's salad by serving it over mixed greens, hard cooked eggs, and additional tomatos.
