Reviewed Lamb Stew

Nov 26, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

The end result of this recipe was delectable. However, I feel the recipe is flawed.

The stock should be started first, as it took forever to reduce by half.

The recipe does not indicate whether the carrots should remain whole, and I wonder if the chef really meant to have only one fennel stalk included. Wouldn't...

I was quite disappointed with the blandness of this dish. The peanut sauce was not nearly enough to provide peanut flavor to 1 1/4 pounds of noodles; I would recommended tripling the sauce recipe. Tried to doctor it up after mixing it together, but it just never made the grade. I plan to make more sauce today and serve it up for dinner again this"

Reviewed Slow Cooker Chipotle-Lime Chicken Thighs Jamaican Rice and Peas

Apr 27, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm usually disappointed with slow-cooker recipes, as they usually smell wonderful, but taste bland. This was a nice surprise; the dish has some complex, delicious flavors. Not only that, there was no need to sear beforehand; everything just gets put into the slow-cooker at one time, and that's it. (Of course, the rice needs to be prepared sepa"

This is such an easy recipe, but it produces such a moist, tasty treat. I baked this six times this week as Christmas presents for my adult piano students, and as an after-lesson treat for my young students. They were all delighted and found them irresistable! Thank you, Paula Deen!"

Reviewed Posole Rojo

Apr 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was awesome in every sense of the word! Rich taste, without being overly spicy (which would have been OK, too!) Deeply satisfying, and worth the effort of pushing the soaked, dried peppers through the sieve. (One of my least favorite culinary activities!)"

Reviewed Banana Muffins

Jun 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are the best banana muffins I've ever made. I used four bananas and filled the muffin cups up to the brim, making 12 muffins. They came out beautifully rounded and tasted professionally baked. I liked preheating the oven and then reducing the heat. Will definitely make these again. Futhermore, it was so easy!"

Reviewed Pumpkin Soup

This was absolutely delicious! Cleaning and roasting the pumpkin takes the most time, but once that's done it's a cinch. Love the apple addition, which gives the soup a touch of sweetness. Very light tasting, despite the heavy cream.
