I wish I avoided this recipe. The gruyere was way too strong and i cut the amount in half so I can't imagine how terrible it would taste if I put the whole amount. It just doesn't taste like traditional mac and cheese. It's especially disappointing because gruyere is expensive. If you want ACTUAL mac and cheese, try a different recipe.""

These were really good. Had just the right amount of spiciness. For those who said that it was too salty probably added the steak seasoning AND salt and pepper. The recipe called for either, not both.

I made all the adjustments suggested by the other reviews: decreased oil to 1 cup, increased the cocoa to 2 tablespoons and buttermilk to 1.5 cups. The cupcakes came out well but they were still a little oily. Next time I will use even less oil. The cupcakes were definitely moist. I really enjoyed this recipe. I did not add parsley, only the basil. Also, I added more red pepper flakes to make it more spicy. It turned out wonderful. I will definitely make it again.

I thought this recipe was very flavorful and easy to make. I left out the scallions and did not make the mango chutney. It still was very good. I would make it again for a summer barbecue.
