Reviewed Chicken with Roasted Lemon and Rosemary Sauce

Mar 23, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a great recipe! I didn't think this was an outstanding, stand out from the crowd, kind of dish. But at the same time, it was a very tasty meal. I used less lemon and it was still very lemony and tart, but good anyway because I do love lemon. Two thumbs up! I will definitely be preparing the chicken and potatoes again this way!"

Very tasty and tender ribs! Served with mashed potatoes!"

This was really very good. After reading previous reviews I added slightly more berries than what was called for. I also didn't add ginger (not a fan at all). Other than that, I followed the recipe. I found the amount of dough to be perfect! I am a bread/dough person though... I love it! The dough did go very very well with the berries. My hubby and...

Wow what a great meal! This is super easy and super quick for a wonderful weeknight meal. My husband was definitely impressed. He wouldn't have guessed the short list of ingredients. I did leave out the ginger, as I'm not a huge fan of the flavor, and it was still incredible! I didn't realize I was fresh out of rice, so I made some crescent rolls...

Reviewed Beer Batter Fish and Spicy Chips with Lemon-Habanero Tartar Sauce and Serrano Vinegar

Mar 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm rating the fish only here since that's the only thing I made. This was very very good. The batter was as good as any beer batter I've had at a restaurant. I shallow fried it in a cast iron skillet rather than deep frying it and I used the 3 egg whites like the recipe is supposed to say. It really turned out fantastic. Thank you Bobby Flay!"

Oh dear, this was delicious! I made 3lb of meat and my hubby and I devoured all of it! Followed recipe exactly. Meat was fall apart tender- no knife required! I will be making this over and over!!"

Reviewed Almond and Lemon Biscotti Dipped in White Chocolate

Mar 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were pretty good. I do like biscotti; however, there are some recipes I care for much better. I suppose it was the cornmeal in the recipe. The lemon flavor was good. I used slivered almonds because that's all I had on hand. I would encourage you NOT to use slivered almonds. That may have also been why I didn't like it as much as others did....

Reviewed Alice Jo's Spaghetti Sauce

Mar 9, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I decided to make something different other than my typical spaghetti sauce. Boy, am I glad I did! I thought it was pretty good, but I was very surprised when my husband told me how much he enjoyed it! He then ventured to say he enjoyed it more than my usual sauce! Served it with garlic bread and it was perfect. Thank you for supplying this recipe...

Mar 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very good burger. The addition of beer really puts it over the top. I cooked it on the inside grill and it was really delicious. I also prepared the red onion compote with good results. It was pretty tasty for a good change to the regular."

This is excellent! A definite must try!! I used chicken breasts because the store was fresh out of the thighs, but it came out just fine. The rice is a must because you'll want it to sop up that delicious sauce. Oh! The sauce-- wow! The sauce is really what makes the dish. So buttery and smooth. It really is true what they say... butter makes everything...

Reviewed Applesauce Granita with Maple Yogurt

Mar 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very easy to make and light and refreshing for summertime. However, if I were to make it again I would use sweetened applesauce instead of unsweetened and use vanilla yogurt over plain. I felt it needed a little added sweetness. I did enjoy this as is though."

Reviewed Argentinean Barbecued Steak

Mar 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I used flank steak because my local grocer didn't have any skirt steak at the time. I followed her instructions to grill the steak and it came out perfectly. I was concerned about it being too chewy or tough but if you cook it to medium/medium rare it will turn out great. Thanks Ingrid!! By the way, I attempted to make the sauce. I'm not sure what...

The burger was good enough. However, the fries really were delicious! I didn't make the tapenade as the husband is not really a fan, so maybe I would have liked it better if I had. As it was, though, we both thought it was a pretty good burger (tasted like an Italian sausage burger) that satisfied our appetite but definitely not the best we've ever...
