My Activity

Reviewed Cinnamon Buns

"A friend made this for us and they were hands down the best rolls I've ever had! He used a sourdough starter, and is going to give me some of his starter, but otherwise, I'd be lost on it. And he nixed the nuts and raisins. Which is the best for me!! ""

Reviewed Lobster Corn Creme Brulee

"This was amazing! Thanks Claire! I definitely agree to ignore the complainers who say it's not REAL creme brulee...well...duh! It has corn and lobster, not sugar. It was heavenly, inexpensive and elegant. What else can you ask for to WOW your guests. I lucked out and got some frozen/pre-cooked lobster claws at Costco. 2.5 lbs for 13 dollars. yay! "

Reviewed White Truffles

"I'm not sure why people are complaining...these were a real treat! I had the mixture in the freezer to set before I even thought about scooping. Then, I used a small scoop to dish, but then plopped them back on some wax paper, and back in the freezer before I thought about rolling them with my hot little hands. Once they were almost frozen, I rolled them, decorated with chocolate drizzle and then kept in the fridge. There's a reason you can only buy fresh truffles from a refrigerated section in a shop. Or, you can dip them in a ganache as another cook suggested. Biggest hit of my Christmas cookies this last year. Thanks Ina!!

ADDITION - I wanted to use this as a layer in between a chocolate cake, and dumped an entire 11 oz Ghiradelli's bag, and used 3tbs Bailey's, and 1 extra teaspoon, not tablespoon of heavy cream, and the mix set up for truffle consistency w/out even putting it in the fridge.

Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

"I'm a bit confused why someone would give this a one star and complain it tastes like cake mix. The main ingredient is cake mix. So if you're not up for cake mix tasting cookies, don't make these. But for me, in the same vein of my love affair with cookie dough and cake batter ice cream, these cookies were great! They tasted as I expected and that's why they're good. Cakey! And you can't beat how easy they are!
