My Activity

Reviewed Garlic Spaghetti

"This was a tasty meal but needs some modifications. The butter and Olive oil is just too much grease. The pot alone is still greasy even after a good wash. I would cut the butter down to half FOR SURE next time, and add some mushrooms for texture. The garlic simmered is truely yummy and my 3 and 6 year old asked for seconds. I will make it again with these changes.

Reviewed Sweet Potato Waffles

"My kids (ages 5.5 and 3 were already full from dinner but as soon as these waffles started coming off the iron, their little hands couldn't stop grabbing and asking for more more more please. I ate some with them and I have to say the are excellent. I am a fan of sweet potatoes and citrus zest so it wasn't a surprise. Anyway, the only changes I made was to use (3) whole eggs - as another reviewer had done, to save time and not waste the yolks, to mix half all purpose flour with white whole wheat flour, and to use soy milk. Next time I'll use less brown sugar since they were plenty sweet. A definite make again and a go to meal for us in the future.

Reviewed Pimiento Cheesy Mac

"I thought it tasted pretty good. The pimentos were a nice twist and I liked what Rachel said during the show about opening up your kid's tastes. This seemed like a low impact change for my two kids ages 5.5 and almost 3. Both of course LOVE regular boxed mac/cheese and this is the first time I've ever made it from scratch. I gave it only a good rating because my almost 3 year old took a few bites and wouldn't finish it. My son said it tasted OK but asked how many bites he had to eat. Overall maybe a good idea but not for me. I won't be saving this recipe and now have 4 more servings in the freezer for another attempted taste opener.
