My Activity

Reviewed Shepherd's Pie

"This is a pretty good recipe. I doctor it quite a bit. I use Ina Garten's herb biscuit recipe for the top instead of a instand biscuit mix. I also make a garlic mashed potato and add garlic and fennel to the meat mixture. It turns out really delicious and I think the biscuits make a real difference."

Reviewed Banana Bread with Pecans

"Best banana bread recipe ever. I always add 1 tsp. of cinnamon to the dry ingredients. I also bake about 20 less than called time. Perfect!!!""

Reviewed Oatmeal, Cranberry and Chocolate Chunk Cookies

"My husband and I always battle over cookies. I like hearty cookies with oatmeal, raisins, chocolate chips, etc. He like basic chocolate chip. So, when I made these I new I was taking a chance. To my surprise, he loved these and now even requests them over the basic chocolate chip recipe we normally make. These cookies are awesome. I followed the recipe exactly except I don't have the ice cream scoop she says to use. I just use a spoon and roll the dough and then flatten slightly. The BEST cookies ever!"

Reviewed Mac and Cheese

"This was absolutely delicious!! Thanks Ina once again for an awesome recipe. Great twist on the mac and cheese. My grocery store (Whole Foods) was out of truffle butter so I bought white truffle oil and added about 2 teaspoons to the called about of unsalted butter. Worked perfectly. "

Reviewed Banana Nut Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting

"I just made this recipe last night and, with a couple of tweaks, created the most delicious cake EVER! I followed the cake directions except doing the following: 1 added a TBSP of corn starch to the bottom of each flour cup (got this tip from another reviewer to make the cake lighter 2 added about 1/3 cup heavy cream; 3 omitted the nuts; 4 baked in 2, 9 inch pans; and 3 baked for about 5 additional minutes. With these slight changes, my cakes turned out delicious. Then, to top it off, I decided to switch out the cream cheese frosting for Barefoot Contessa's Peanut Butter Icing with an layer of sliced bananas between the cake layers. Seriously, the best cake ever!
