Reviewed Panko-Crusted Salmon

Feb 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this last night and it was super easy and delicious. I only had seasoned panko breadcrumbs so I used those and my salmon was already skinned, so I seared for only 2-3 minutes and finished up in the oven. It was juicy, flavorful and delicious. Served with whole wheat olive oil and garlic cous cous and roasted brocolli with fresh grated parm....

Reviewed Pan-Fried Trout

Dec 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious, quick and easy. One thing though - am I blind about the butter? Couldn't see anywhere where it said how much. I used 4tbps and a quarter cup of white wine and capers for the sauce. SOOOOOOO delicious! Also used seasoned panko breadcrumbs as someone suggested and fileted steelhead trout which I bought accidentally thinking it was sa...

Made this tonight and it couldn't have been easier! Served with un-shelled edamame and sweet potato fries. Quick and delicious! ""

Reviewed Sauteed Cabbage

Aug 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've never been a big cabbage person. Actually, I've never really eaten it because of the smell, but I've made this twice and it's a quick and delicious veggie. My husband absolutely loves it too. And it couldn't possibly be easier to make! ""

Reviewed Smoked Salmon Frittata

Aug 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

First off let me say I love Ina. I love almost everything I've ever made of hers. I didn't love this. To me it was just okay...maybe I don't like smoked salmon enough? It cooked up easily and looked very pretty but I just felt like it was missing something and it didn't reheat was well as I would have liked. Still, a nice change though. ""

Reviewed Chicken Milanese with Tomato and Fennel Sauce

Aug 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've made this several times and it's always a huge hit! I usually cheat a little and buy the already thin-sliced chicken breast and use italian bread crumbs to simplify the chicken breading. Cooks up quickly enough to make on a busy weeknight and is delicious and pretty enough for company.""

Reviewed Roast Chicken

Mar 22, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this tonight for the first time and I just have to say OH MY GOODNESS!!!! It really was simple and delicious. I did follow some of the other recommendations and added 3 tbs butter to assist with the basting and added 3 tbs of flour to thicken the sauce. My bird was actually much bigger too (7+ lbs) but it still turned out moist and juicy and...

Reviewed Spiced Apple-Walnut Cake with Cream Cheese Icing

Feb 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very yummy! Like carrot cake but with apples and it made the house smell DELICIOUS!!!! I omitted the nuts since a lot of people coming to dinner don't like nuts and I forgot to water the icing so it was too thick to drizzle. Not realizing I was forgetting the water, I just made do and coated the cake with the icing. Not as pretty but still delicious....

Reviewed Pastina with Peas and Carrots

Dec 9, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was good. Quick, easy, inexpensive and the kids enjoyed helping me make it as well as eat it. Pretty filling so good for a side or as a main dish. I did use 1/3 less fat cream cheese and it was still good.

Reviewed Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

These were very good! I added an extra half a cup of pumpkin and some extra spices and they were very yummy. Light and fluffy on the inside and very simple to make. Took them to an office party and they were a big hit!

Reviewed Meaty Mushroom Lasagna

Oct 11, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

My husband LOVED loved loved this! He can't quit talking about it. Very good and a nice different take on lasagna. Only thing I would say was the sauce was a little thin after in cooked IN the lasagna. Not sure if I didn't reduce enough although I thought it was pretty thick. Still, we ate on this for a couple of days and it was thicker the other...

Reviewed Beef and Butternut Squash Stew

Oct 11, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Made this last night for a big family dinner and it was a big hit. Used 3/4 dry marsala and 1/4 sherry that we had and wanted to finish up. Really good flavor. Only thing is I doubled due to # of people and not sure if I should have doubled the broth. Sauce/broth was very thin, so I ended up cooking longer and reducing it down some. Still, it...

Reviewed Mustard-Roasted Fish

Oct 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Very yummy. Used Haddock as that was fresh at the store and served this to my sister in law who is not much of a fish person and she loved it. Very simple and delish. As others have mentioned, the sauce was not very thick and just kind of runs off the fish as it cooks but I just spooned it on top. Served with couscous and roasted broccoli.

Reviewed Chicken with Tarragon and White Wine

Oct 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

This was very good. The chicken was juicy and fell off the bone and the sauce had a great flavor. My husband couldn't stop raving about it. Only thing I would say is I was surprised the sauce wasn't thicker... and I reduced it for awhile. Other than that came out very nice.

Reviewed Roasted Fennel with Parmesan

Delicious and easy. Mine took about 40 minutes and I would watch the salt since the parmesan is pretty salty. Nice different veggie!
