Reviewed Ginger-Lemon Oatmeal Cookies
"Really flavorful cookies. I'd even use more ginger next time. The lemon grind in the recipe gives it great flavor too. Make sure you space the cookies at least 3 inches apart, they really spread out when you start baking them in the oven. Will definitely make again!"
Reviewed Eliopitta: Olive Bread
"Great bread! Nice crust and soft inside, tasted delicious even the next day. When you first start kneading the dough it looks like it will never come together. Don't be tempted to add any liquid at this point, just keep kneading it and after several minutes it will all bind and you'll add up with nice smooth dough. I would definitely make this ag""
"Nice cookies though they are more like fairy cakes, very soft. Also, they are way too sweet for my taste, 2 cups of sugar is just too much, I think.
"This is a great recipe, the cupcakes are really rich and chocolate-y and the icing is delicious. Everybody loves them. I usually don't have buttermilk at home so I substitute a cup of milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice which needs to sit for 5 minutes first. It works just as well.
Reviewed Barley Salad
"This is a great recipe, really tasty and satisfying. It has a wonderful texture, it's crunchy and the the flavors work well together. I will definitely make this again.
Reviewed Orange Marmalade
"This is a good recipe, though after trying it a few times /have a lot of oranges in my garden/,
I found following:
- 6 cups of water is too much, I use about 4
- the amount of sugar required is too much, I use about 1 kg /2,2 lb/ and the jam is plenty sweet for my taste and it gels well
- the initial cooking period before adding sugar /40 min in the original recipe/ is too short, I cook it for at least an hour before the pieces of peel in the jam get soft enough.
Otherwise, it makes great marmalade and all my friends and family love it.
