I modified this recipe as well by using a sweet onion instead of yellow and added about three cloves of roughly chopped garlic. I decreased the amount of salt as well as the red wine. Delicious! I made this tonight after seeing Giada's show this morning. It turned out excellent. Even my eleven year old son, whom can be a fussy eater at times, loved it! I followed the recipe to a tee, sans the fresh basil leaf on top as well as added two cloves of garlic instead of the one. I served it over a field green salad, lightly drizzled "
