Sorry, just saw this. I actually cook the salmon cakes for about 3-4 minutes a side. It cooks very quickly!

I've been making this recipe for years but I've tweaked it a bit. I leave out the nutmeg and add fresh minced garlic to the melted butter before I add the flour. You can also add some garlic to the bread crumb topping. For those of you who think the recipe is a little bland, this will do the trick!

I've made this so many times and it's always great. This time I added a box of coarsely chopped baby bella mushrooms that I threw in with the onions for the last 5 minutes of cooking. It really gave the meatloaf great texture!

I make these salmon cakes twice a month! The whole family loves them and it's an easy thing to grab out of the fridge to heat up for a quick meal or snack. There's one HUGE difference in my recipe though...I don't cook the salmon at all. I pulse it in a food processor and it becomes so moist that I can cut down the amount of mayo that I put in...
