"This was without a doubt the best beef stew (Grandmama called it stew beef) recipe ever! Thi will be my forever 'go to' stew beef recipe.

I didn't have worchestershire so I used a couple of tablespoons of balsamic vinegar. My family nearly licked their bowls clean. I served this with mashed potatoes and it was the ultimate in 'comfort food.'

As other revewers had suggested, I used beef stock in place of the water. Next time, I think I will double the recipe as it freezes beautifully.
