Reviewed Fresh Broccoli Salad
"So good!! Took the "semi-homemade" route and used broccoli slaw bagged mix as well as a bag of florets. Still got that great "stalk" flavor. Made the dressing exactly, except cut the salt in half, after reading reviews. It was perfect. Thanks Alton, you are a genius! ""
Reviewed Devil's Food Cake
"Wow! This came out exactly as she described and how it looked on the show. I made it for my teenage boys and they are devouring it (as hers did). Cooked in 25 minutes, not 30. I added a tsp. of espresso powder (a la Ina) and I thinked that boosted the chocolate flavor even more. The crumb was perfect - light but not crumbling all over. We couldn't wait for the icing to set up, but I think by morning, it will be perfect. I did wait the hour as she directed before putting it on the cake and it was perfectly spreadable. I will also add a pinch of salt next time. I'm always searching for the perfect chocolate cake and this is one of them.
