Reviewed Aunt Peggy's Sweet Potato Souffle
"MOTHER OF GOD this was DEEEEELISH!
I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone raved about it. I followed some of the reviews and changed the sugar. Instead of using 1c of white sugar I used 1/2c of brown sugar. I used all purpose flour for the topping and omitted the pecans.""
Reviewed Spicy Macaroni and Cheese
"Frankly I am quite surprised that this wasn't better. I read pages of reviews and though this was going to blow my mind. Don't get me wrong, it was good Mac'N'Cheese but if this is truly Sunny's "Best thing I ever made" I don't think I will be trying out anything else she makes.
I could hardly feel the heat in this mac. Also it wasn't as melty""
"I saw Ina make this on her show a few months ago and it looked sooooo yummy, I had to try it. I am a pretty adventurous cook and will try anything, but I have to admit the cinnamon in this recipe did have me a little skeptical. Also, I was worried that my husband would not like the dish, when I explained it to him the look on his face was hilarious, like, uh I will try it but don't expect me to like it. I made the recipe exactly to Ina's specifications, and it was A-MA-ZING! I was blown away, never never never be afraid to use cinnamon in a savory dish. Even the Hubby was sorry he doubted the recipe. Everyone LOVED it, even our 3 year old, who had seconds.
Reviewed Potato-Bacon Torte
"I make this all the time now! OMG this is the most amazing potato dish I have ever had. And if you don't have the time, there are shortcuts that I take. Store bought pie crust dough, and real bacon bits are a life saver when you are in a time crunch.
Reviewed Scalloped Potato Gratin
"I really like this recipe, however, it does need more cheese and it takes way longer to cook than the time alloted in the recipe.
"I have made this a few times and I improve on it each time. I do not use the gremolata at all, not my cup of tea. I use 2 carrots and 2 celery stalks (makes the dish go farther), bump up the wine by 1/2 cup, instead of chick broth I use turkey stock, and then finally serve over creamy polenta..... DEEEELISH!!!! It's a big hit, a great depth of flavor.
