"Well, I was anxious to try this recipe and didn't have any apples. But, I did have 3 over ripe Bosc pairs so I tried it using those and dried cranberries (not the sweetened craisens though) Added a little extra sugar, as other reviewers suggested, and they came out fabulous! This really is a great/easy recipe and I think it can be adapted to other fruits.....I highly recommend the pear and dried cranberry version, although will definitely try the apple version because I love everything apple.
