I would not classify this as "easy". After three attempts, I still have not had a batch of onions turn out correctly. From now on I plan on substituting the topping in this recipe with French's French Fried Onions. In all other respects, I love this recipe!

These are the best! I don't measure anything anymore and just follow the recipe by memory. Even the leftovers are tasty ... the next day .... cold. I occasionally add garlic powder with the salt.
