"for MomRules...I don't think it would be a big deal to omit the bay leaves (although, I can't imagine you would even notice they were in there), however, I would replace the fennel with either finely chopped cabbage or green onion tops or leaks. Sweet potato doesn't seem like a good swap to me. Good luck."
