I made this recently for a family gathering and it was the hit of the party! Just about everyone wanted the recipe and was asking for seconds! Be sure to whip fresh cream and don't forget the candied pecans; they add a wonderful texture to softness of the cheesecake.

Agree. It's important to use sweetened condensed milk, otherwise the filling will be bitter and too runny.

Ditto. I had to reduce the cooking time of the crust to 10 mins. Cooking the crust longer than 10 mins. results in a crust that is rock hard and tastes burnt.

Fantastic recipe! I used a 2009 Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet and Remy XO for the cognac - wow, what incredible flavor! I used a 6 lb roast and it turned out moist and the sauce was just perfect! Be sure to follow the directions carefully and don't deviate if you want the best pot roast you've ever tasted. I will definitely be making this again...
