Disappointed, and the directions were confusing. I've made fried pickles before and agree, the cornmeal ratio to flour was too high. I thought I'd try something new...sigh...I think I'l try a beer batter recipe next time.

Wow, this was awesome and easy! I made some fun substitutions: I used bacon fat instead of butter and low fat milk to balance the naughtiness. I also used 1 cup sharp cheddar and 1 cup jalapeno jack cheese...delicious! I skipped the nutmeg. I will make this again and again!"

They were easy to make, that's for sure. I would have preferred them with more spice (jalapeno, not old bay) and a different dip (too mayonnaise-y). I will try another recipe next time...these were kinda blah.
