Reviewed Skirt Steak with Chimichurri Sauce

Aug 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The steak is great but the star is the sauce...made various versions of Chimichurri but I think this is one of the best. Could eat it on anything or with any thing."

Reviewed Blackberry Cobbler

May 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm not sure this is really a cobbler but what ever you call it, it's delicious and ridiculously easy. I had fresh blueberries so I used them and served with fresh whipped cream and more blueberries. Got lots of compliments. Can't wait to try it with other fruits. "

Reviewed Eggplant Casserole

I really liked this although I did modify it slightly. I added only half of the breadcrumbs and half of the Parmesan. Rather than finish it in the oven I continued to cook it on the stove adding more liquid and stirring leaving the vegetables in a creamy sauce. Served it over a lemon-chive pasta as a great main dish.""

Reviewed Chipotle Shrimp Taco with Avocado Salsa Verde

Jun 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really easy and really good. I used some salsa verde with the avocado and it turned out great. I also used flour tortillas because I don't care for corn. The shrimp was amazing!!! "

Reviewed Vietnamese Noodle Soup

Apr 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This soup was really good...actually combined recipes using this as a base but added seasonings from a David Tanis cookbook. Slightly less star anise with some fennel, coriander and cardamom seeds. Couldn't stop eating it."

Reviewed Beer, Ginger, and Garlic Braised Brisket

Apr 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this with a chuck roast and thought it was pretty good. The cooking liquid seemed a little bitter (could have been the beer I used) so I added a little more sugar. I also added some potatoes and carrots at the end to make it more like a beer, ginger and garlic pot roast. My husband loved it and I will make it again"

Reviewed Eggplant Rollatini

Apr 10, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I think this is really delicious...not to filling but really hearty. I made a half recipe and the only problem is the filling is not ready after 15 min. in the oven. Baked it another 10 min. and it helped the filling set up. I'll be serving this for a luncheon in a couple of weeks...a keeper"

Reviewed Cauliflower With Tomatoes

Apr 5, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had to use up some cauliflower and grape tomatoes so I tried this and wow it was delicious. I'll be buying the vegetables to make this again and again."

Reviewed Loin of Pork with Fennel

Mar 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had some butterflied boneless pork chops that I used instead of a whole loin and it turned out really well. I think I'd rather have more vegetables in the stuffing but as a whole it was easy and very tasty"

Reviewed Pan-Fried Catfish Sandwich with Chipotle-Lime Slaw

Jan 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really easy and very good. It made for a light dinner along with some fruit. I used catfish but I think next time I might use a thicker white fish maybe cod (catfish really isn't my favorite). The slaw was really good and I'll make it again as a side for other sandwiches.

These were really good. I added a little mild giardiniera to the saute. Also had a little horseradish cream as a dipping sauce. Will make again soon.

I really didn't like this until I added some petite diced tomatoes.

Reviewed Duck Confit

Oct 10, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

This was so simple and I didn't have to find and spend a fortune on duck fat. I used it on a duck confit pizza for my nieces engagement party. GREAT!!
