Though the topping is spot on taste wise, the ratio of dough to topping is too high. Simply too doughy. My suggestion is to make 12 buns out of the same dough, not 9, and to make 1 1/2 recipes of the caramel topping to make sure all 12 have plenty. I think then they would be perfect."
