Reviewed Apple and Walnut Torta
"I made this torta this morning. I didn't have Grand Marnier to soak the dried cranberries in, but I DID have fresh cranberries. I put about 1 cup into my mini chopper and used them instead. I didn't bother to toast the walnuts. I also used several kinds of apples (picked fresh yesterday)! It was quite good."

Shared Recipe Sneaky Mac N Cheese
"A basic mac and cheese recipe with a sneaky twist the kids won't notice and the adults will enjoy."
Reviewed Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup
"I made this for Christmas breakfast today and it was delicious. Rather than plain french bread, I used cranberry, pecan whole grain bread. I also used heavy cream instead of half & half. It was rich and delicious. We've voted it the beginning of a holiday tradition!
About Me
I love food. I love to cook and I love to eat. Whether I'm feeding my family or entertaining my friends, eating for me is almost always an event. I rarely eat something just because I am hungry, thought goes into most meals, especially dinners.
I love eating out and trying new places and like to try and figure out what has gone into some of the better dishes. If it's really good, I'll even ask.
I prefer cooking to baking because I'm not much for precision, and I'm not really that big on desserts.
I subscribe to food magazines (Food and Wine is one of my favorites) and love experimenting with wine and food pairings. After all, most meals are better with the perfect glass of wine!
Favorite Foods
Mexican tops my list of favorites. Having lived out west for years, I love authentic Mexican food. But I've played with some Tex-Mex varieties that are pretty darn good too.Chinese, seafood, Indian, Italian ... I love it all. The only thing I don't do is red meat, with the exception of an occasional grilled hot dog loaded with onions, spicy Dijon mustard, ketchup and freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese on a grilled bun. It's not for every day but it sure is good! I'm also a huge fan of vegetarian pizzas that include artichoke.
