Yes, I agree with everyone else--too much sugar when raising the yeast. I think the best thing to do is add a teaspoon into the yeast and rest of the sugar when you add the 6-1/2 c of flour. I think 1/2 CUP of sugar is way too much--I think it should be about 2 tblspns! On the subject of flour--I added OVER 9 CUPS of flour and it was still so sticky!!!...
