“Cooking the meringues this way will only work if you have an electric oven. I have a gas oven and when I turned it off after putting the meringues in (as stated in the recipe) the oven cooled off so quickly that the meringues began deflating into puddles instead of firming up. I tried turning the oven on again, but too much damage had been done."”
