About Me

Hey all you good people! My name's Monica (as you can see my user name) and I am a 15 1/2 year old freshmen who LOVES peaches, baking, and cats. I began cooking when I began a diet since I was over weight (I shall NEVER do that again!!!!). I started making low-fat healthy options rather than eating out, which really helped. As I improved over the years, I wanted to make the stuff that made me fat; sweets, like cake and brownies.... But guess what? Asians don't use the oven as much as Americans!!!! Sure we have bakeries, but those places were the only source of bread. And IF we Asians do make bread, we would steam them with a sweet red bean filling or something savory like pork. Did we bake them? Nope, never. So baking for me was a challenge. In fact, I never turned the oven on before my whole life. The very first cake was out of the box, then I started to make my cakes with flour sugar and eggs. Wow...If I think about them now, its an emberrasment..... Soon, after two years or so of fighting with the oven (trust me it was war!), I won! I made the perfect cake and I was so proud!! That is the story of my cooking life!

Favorite Foods

I love... Peaches, chocolate, bread, and lamb

Favorite person.....Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Giada DeLaurentiis, and GUY FIERI!!!!!

Best dish.... LOTS of baked goods.... Everyone was good!!

Favorite restaurant.....Joe's Farm Grill (THANKS GUY!!), Sweet Republic Ice Cream Parlor (this place is part of the reason why I can't go on a diet!), Green (you HAVE to try this awsome place!!), and La Grande Orange Grocery (very home felt place!)
