Replied to skillet apple pie with cinnamon whipped cream

And I see she never came back in to rate it after the date she made it. This makes me sad because it lowers a recipe rating for no reason.

-Oh my goodness, and that is exactly what this is! I made this last night and we loved it. It is past delicious and so incredibly easy. My mother-in-law, who is not a cook, asked for the recipe after she saw me make it and tasted how good it was.

Is your skillet well-seasoned? That could be the problem. You can type In "season cast iron" on this site and it will tell you how to do it.

I agree with you all. Look at the other ingredient quantities. And realize a once in a while treat is ok. Get over the vendetta against food ingredients.

I agree. Very inappropriate comment and the review and rating should be removed.

I think your recipe sounds so good! However, the reviews and ratings should be used for the recipe the chef submitted Many of us use that to decide if a recipe is worth looking at and this will skew that.

I understand you are proud of your culinary heritage. It's ok, though, for others to riff on it and take it to something new. It's done all the time and can be very tasty.

The French bread she used is a much wider and deeper bread and is sold as "French bread". So yes, it is different and would hold the sauce better.

How did this get five stars when the reviews were so bad? Fix your review part of this web site, please, or it will have no credibility with us.

Yes, it is. Just depends on where you live. You are East TX. West TX uses beans. And better for you, too!

My sister made this for her Garden Club luncheon and they loved it. She got many requests for the recipe. She did use white wine instead of sherry because she had that on hand, and used a mix of gruyere and swiss to keep the cost down. She also thought artichoke hearts would be a good addition.

This was delicious! I made one change: I shorted the cream by 2 tablespoons and added 2 tablespoons of dry sherry. It added just a touch of flavor that really enhanced the oysters.
